During a penumbral lunar eclipse, when the earth is almost directly between the sun and moon, the shadow of the earth on the moon is consistently round.

I have seen pictures of lunar eclipses showing a circular shadow, and twice I even observed it in person! Admittedly though, without presupposing the modern model of the solar system, assuming the phenomenon observed during an eclipse is the earth's shadow is a bit of a leap.

I think this claim is True.
